BJE Israel Program

About the program:

The unique BJE Israel program brings together NSW, ACT and QLD Jewish students from all schools outside the Jewish Day Schools (and joined by United Jewish Education Board students from Victoria), creating a shared experience which caters for all levels of religiosity and knowledge.

This trip is an opportunity for teenagers to visit Israel in a well-structured, modern educational setting where they can explore, embrace and experience more than they could have ever imagined. Together they will live and breathe the culture, history and magic of history.

This is a residential program, based at the Alexander Muss High School in Israel. The program gives students the opportunity to learn about the history of Masada and then climb it, to not just visit the Kotel, but be a part of a powerful experience, as well as celebrating Shabbat in Jerusalem surrounded by a Jewish community, and joining together for Chanukah parties. Students can lie under the stars in a Bedouin tent and ride camels in the desert. They will have the chance to float in the Dead Sea and eat the best falafel, hummus and shwarma in the world. There are many more things to take in, from waterfalls, to hot springs, hikes and bike rides; the experiential learning is extensive on this immersive Israel experience.

Every child will find their place, because Israel has a way of bringing together a cross section of the community and making them feel at home and grow as individuals.

BJE has facilitated High School Israel programs since 2008, and the growth and popularity of this program continues.
