BJE Israel Program

About the program:

The unique Nesiah Year 10 Israel program brings together NSW, ACT and QLD Jewish students from all schools outside the Jewish Day School system (joined by UJEB students from Victoria, WA and SA), creating a shared Israel experience for all levels of religiosity and knowledge.

This Nesiah Program is an opportunity for Year 10 participants to visit Israel in a modern educational setting where they can explore, embrace and experience the history and culture of Israel.

The Nesiah Program gives students the opportunity to learn about the history of Masada and then climb it, to visit the Kotel, and be a part of a powerful experience, celebrating Shabbat in Jerusalem and joining together for Chanukah parties. Students can lie under the stars in a Bedouin tent and ride camels in the desert and float in the Dead Sea. There are many more things to experience, from markets in Tel Aviv and Jaffa, to seminars on advocacy and Jewish History, waterfalls, to hot springs, hikes and bike rides; the experiential learning is extensive on this immersive Israel program.

Every child will find their place, because Israel has a way of bringing together a cross section of the community and making them feel at home and allowing them grow as individuals.

BJE has facilitated High School Israel programs since 2008, and the growth and popularity of this program continues.
