Lesli Berger – President, JBOD

Lesli Berger was elected Vice President in 2016 and President in 2018 of NSW Jewish Board of Deputies.

He joined the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Public Affairs Committee in 2014 and was elected as Chairman in 2015, where he continues to serve.

Lesli is the Managing Director of Fivex, his family’s commercial property investment firm.

Over the last 20 years, he has carried out a number of additional community service activities including:

  • Councillor of Woollahra Council from 1999-2004;
  • Chairman of the Double Bay Chamber of Commerce;
  • Trustee of the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust from 2012 to 2016; and
  • Governor of the Centennial Parklands Foundation.

While a Councillor on Woollahra Council, he supported the significant expansion of the Eruv within Woollahra Council’s boundaries, the memorial to Yitzhak Rabin at Steyne Park in Double Bay and was instrumental in supporting the rezoning of the Jewish Centre on Aging to enable their lawful continued operations and upgrade to the Centre.

Prior to his involvement with the Board, he was a regular panellist on Sky News commentating on and discussing matters of public interest, current affairs and politics.

Lesli Berger completed a BA LLB at UNSW in 2000.
