Peter Philippsohn is the immediate past President and Foundation Chairman of JCA. He is also a Life Governor of Mount Sinai College, a school he founded in 1981 together with a group of similar minded parents in Sydney’s south-eastern suburbs.
He has served on almost every JCA committee since 1999 and served as President from 2011 to 2014.
Peter’s involvement in Y2i stems from his observations that the demand for Jewish education is diminishing and in today’s economic current Jewish families are struggling to afford private schooling.
“I believe we need to find additional avenues of engagement and involvement for young Jews living in Australia. Research worldwide, shows that a significant Israel experience as a teenager, is a determining factor in ensuring Jewish continuity.
